The client is an airline, implementing a new passenger procedure, when the manufacturer drops the ball and can not produce in the required lead time. The airline staff will have to hand write destination information on thousands of their boarding passes and bag tags if HBS doesn't have products to all of their 16 locations within 5 days. Problem?

Horizon Business Systems and their client have been developing this product for several weeks, when the manufacturer dropped a bomb with a lead time extension of 4 weeks, claiming six to eight weeks was industry standard. This would leave a gap of 3 weeks of hand written boarding passes and bag tags. This was absolutely unacceptable! HBS went to work feverishly to interview and qualify potential new manufacturers. Within five hours, they had seven manufacturers available to produce the bag tags and boarding passes. All these facilities possessed the capability to meet the time frame requirement for the products. It's a good thing this client choose to work with Horizon Business Systems!

The client is a large, subscription based telecommunications organization. With 443,000 clients in 24 markets, a new law going into effect in five days could have a huge, devastating effect on their customer retention percentage. Marketing has a brilliant idea, but needs to get a letter into their customer before the new law takes effect. Problem?

A long term relationship with Horizon Business Systems has been paved over the last several years. Being a distributor, Horizon has access to multiple manufacturing facilities within minutes. Horizon had to first produce 450,000 each of the client's letterhead and envelopes, then generate the variable data onto the stationery, fold, insert, seal, and mail. The task was completed from the first meeting to USPS delivery within 72 hours! The job weighed 4 ½ tons and took up 10 pallets. The postage cost $97,000.

A regional bank with 16 locations is opening a new branch in two weeks. They have furniture, décor, staff, permits, etc. all lined up for the opening, but have not ordered the proper operational and teller forms required for all of the daily transactions. They review their products at other branches and realize a need for 35 different items, most of which must be on hand to open. Many of them have FDIC compliance issues for construction and content.

Fortunately, this client had a long standing relationship with Horizon Business Systems and HBS had a working understanding of each of the bank forms required. HBS has worked closely with the Operations and Compliance staff since the bank first became a client. Horizon carefully documented the product requirements and usages and relies on this data upon the opening of any additional branches.

The client's corporate procedures manual required that their outside sales people be dressed, when in the field, in polo shirts that complement the organizational identity. Items are purchased by sales people, yet the previous supplier kept loosing orders and shipping them to wrong addresses. They couldn't seem to keep track of the volume. The sales people were upset that they couldn't comply with company rules.

With an Online Catalog, users can access, track and follow their own purchases. Some clients choose to develop a full blown company store adding coffee mugs, jackets and other items. Users can pay via credit card, if personal or corporate purchase order, if authorized.

Human Resource needs to send out a USPS communication to staff, over 20,000 of them, regarding a newly revised corporate policy regarding ethics and integrity.

While not typically a mailing services vendor for this client, Horizon Business Systems was able to save the client enough on postage to justify the cost of their service. The client had the task managed and done quickly and cleanly. Since HBS already had the letterhead and envelopes for this project in house, the files were emailed over, a proof was prepared in a hour and the drop was prepared and sent to the post office the following day. HBS knew that this was a high profile project for our contact and our corporate client and executed flawlessly.

This organization's sales people are spread across three continents, but they still need access to the most up to date brochures, promotional gifts, leave behinds, mailing service capabilities specific to their own marketplace and company collateral in general. Proper Brand Management and robust Warehouse and Fulfillment are crucial. Corporate office will handle buying the materials, but how do they determine how much to send of what to whom?

Since 2001, this client has been realizing the services of Horizon Business Systems' Online Catalog. This catalog offers up visuals of the items that the sales reps need. The Online Catalog allows any associate with access to view and request collateral items, if approved they can follow up with the transaction to see it is being fulfilled. The corporate client has access to cost data, by product, type, by region, by time frame. One person from the staff of the corporate client manages over a million dollars worth of printed communication products annually through this channel in only minutes a week instead of the hours that it used to take before HBS and Online Catalog Solution.

Corporate marketing has initiated a new logo to be in place for a hard roll out the first day of next month. Corporate has to replace every piece of stationery, business card, form, collateral piece and leave behind for this rollout and they don't even know how many of their 18,000 employees have business cards or when they got them.

As clients been using Horizon Business Systems Online Catalog for long enough to have created a history, this task is a breeze as all the orders were saved to history. HBS can update the logos and manage all of the print orders to fulfillment and distribution in less than two weeks.

Budgets are due at the end of the month and the person who oversees expenditures, needs to know how much stationery, laser sheets, labels, forms, envelopes, business cards and file folders that they purchased from you over the last year and what cost centers spent individually and collectively.

Online catalogs provides at a glance recording management of your transactions. Access to this data is only a small part of the Online Catalog's many robust features. It's ease of use is only the tip of the iceberg. As the first distributor to bring online catalogs to NV, HBS has been on the bleeding edge of this technology since 1999.
