Horizon
Business Systems is a master at providing printed products solutions
to businesses. Founded in 1992, Horizon is expert at supplying 33
distinct product line offerings to their growing client base of
almost 650 companies. With a staff of 12, they function as a distributor
of printed products and allow the manufacturing to be accomplished
elsewhere. They feel this gives them a great deal more flexibility
in meeting their clients' sometimes demanding needs and also provides
them with extended and unlimited, quality production resources.
Horizon personnel are experts at the way products in the industry
should be produced. Oftentimes, there is a 'best way' that a job
should be produced for both efficiency as well as economics. All
customer service and sales staff are required to understand each
of the printing processes used to create all the product lines offered.
Besides
the 33 product lines under Horizon's umbrella, they also offer 12
specific services within the industry. These services are created
and intended to complement the product offering, yet in several
cases, they have become efficient profit centers delivering a robust
solution to the marketplace.

1999
saw the initiation of two technologically robust solutions driven
by market demand and the desire to stand above the competition:

Online print product ordering catalogs that allow the client to
access their password protected online ordering site with soft
proofing capabilities, order tracking and history maintenance.

At the same time, we began offering external data processing services
- a solution we call 'Information Outsourcing'. We've found tremendous
success with this offering because it allows the client to focus
on their core competencies rather than getting their billing cycles
out the door. This is currently one our largest revenue streams
and is a large focus area for future growth.

Horizon
Business Systems is a member of many professional organizations
such as the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, the Henderson Chamber
of Commerce, the Document Management Industries Association, the
Western Business Systems Association, the Promotional Products Association
International and Impact Advertising.
Horizon's
clients include many local, well-known businesses such as the largest
regional dairy, the largest transportation company and the largest
title company in the State of Nevada. The top three largest women
owned businesses in the county grace their client list as well as
24 of the top 50 casinos in Las Vegas. They have several national
and international clients for whom they deliver expanded, company-specific
levels of services.
Their
first office in the seedy section of town became a bit small for
them in the late 90s, so on Valentines Day 2000 they moved to their
present location on Russell Road into an expanded and much needed
8,500 square feet of office and warehouse space. They acquired a
10 year 7a loan backed by the Small Business Administration to accommodate
the move to the larger facility and paid it off in just under 3
years. Bill is contemplating the purchase of his own building in
the immediate future.
He
has created a corporate culture whereby a positive attitude, teamwork
and professionalism go hand in hand. In the past, the company has
taken all staff and families on company sponsored events to places
like the San Diego Zoo, Zion National Park and Knott's Berry Farm
for extended weekends. He encourages his staff to be community involved
and is flexible with the rules if it means a staff member leaving
early to head a Girl Scout Troop or anything similar.
