If
you are familiar with our Mission Statement, you may know that the
bottom line of this philosophy reads;
Be
an active, contributing member of our community through civic donations,
volunteering and constant involvement in improving the well being
of our hometown, Las Vegas NV
Horizon
Business Systems' goal is to inspire it's team members, clients,
manufacturers vendors and personal friends to do the best they can
to contribute to the well being of society. Many, many companies
have their respective hands out for donations of time and money
and we only wish we could do more. That said, here are some examples
of our efforts in the world;
HBS'
owner Bill Houghton has been a Leadership Donor to the United Way
of Southern Nevada since 1998. He has since become a volunteer speaker
for this worthwhile organization.
HBS
annual donation to United Way comes from a program that we first
started in 1996 when we realized that we no longer wanted to give
alcohol or chocolates out to clients and business friends at the
holidays. We choose, with everyone's applause, to give a substantial
donation to United Way. Each December, Horizon Business Systems
continues to donate 3% of gross on behalf of the staff, clients
and business friends of our company.
We
are thrilled to donate printing to our local police dept to assist
with a high school junior anti drunk driving educational exercise
that is phenomenal! We have communicated that we are with this program
for the life of our company.
Sharon
has served for several years as the leadership of her daughter's
Girl Scout troop.
Michele
is an active volunteer for Big Brothers / Big Sisters.
Wesley
coaches Pop Warner football.
Horizon
Business Systems typically supports financially 2 youth soccer teams
annually.
Bill
serves as Vice President of community events for the Nevada chapter
of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He served two years in
the additional role of Walk Committee Chairman.
The
company donates to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and for
over 15 years served as VP for the Las Vegas Jaycees Seniors Community
foundation board of directors.
